waffles in a wooden town

Last weekend I wasn't at my happiest, due to various reason, the main one being that I was overthinking things as per usual. In an attempt to cheer me up and make me think of other things, my mum made me come along with her, her partner and her partner's eight year old on a little trip to a small town nearby. It turned out to be a few rather nice hours spent in the little wooden town. It was a scorching day, but luckily this town is located by a little lake, from which there were little breezes to cool the day down.

We actually didn't do much more than stroll around and pop into a few shops, but the town was so cute that I thought I'd share a couple of snaps of it. Plus, I want to talk about the waffles. The waffles need to be talked about.

We had waffles for lunch, because that's perfectly acceptable when it's the weekend, and they were some of the best I've had in my life. I had mine with cloudberry jam and both hazelnut and vanilla ice cream. Incredibly yummy! I find myself craving them right now...

And that was that! On another note, I played around in photoshop a bit yesterday (dreading the day that my trial expires...!) and made a header for my blog. It's very simple, but think I quite like it, although I'm never completely satisfied.

Hope you're having a nice day and that you have a lovely weekend ahead of you!
