5th of November

Yesterday was the first time I've been in the UK for Guy Fawkes night, so naturally I had to make the most of it. I went with a few friends to Glasgow Green, a park in East Glasgow, to see the fireworks. The park was packed with people, and the atmosphere was really lovely and festive.

There was even a fun fair, but we didn't end up going on any of the rides, partly because the queues were horrendously long and because the prices were ridiculous. Either way, it definitely added to the festive atmosphere.

Now, the actual fireworks were lovely, but incredibly difficult to capture on camera! I did manage to get a few okay pictures, but after about fifteen minutes of struggling I ended up just enjoying them in the moment instead. They're never as beautiful on camera as in real life anyway.

I was a little bit disappointed that there wasn't an actual bonfire. Fireworks are beautiful, but there is something extra cosy and festive about bonfires. Despite that little let-down however, it was a very nice evening. Especially so because we decided to have crêpes afterwards...

I opted for a regular chocolate/nutella crêpe (because nothing beats chocolate!) and a hot chocolate, which really helped to warm me up after standing in the cold for a good while. A lovely end to a lovely evening.

What did you get up to for bonfire night? Did you get to see any fireworks, or an actual bonfire?

Love, Mimmi.
