A Book Haul

Considering I'm a massive bookworm who gets excited by the prospect of visiting bookshops, it's weird how up until now I've never really talked about books on here. I've come to the conclusion that this needs to change, so from now on you'll probably see a few book posts every now and then! I thought I'd start off with a nice wee haul.

Next semester we're doing novels in English Literature (we did poetry this semester), so I have quite a few books I need to get for both that course, and I've got just as many for Scottish Literature. While browsing Amazon last weekend I figured I might as well order a few of them now (though I still have to get a few more). I got a few used ones for really cheap, and a few new ones.

In the first photo, these are the books I got:

The Chevlot, the Stag and the Black, Black Oil by John McGrath
Orlando by Virginia Woolf
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark
The Trick is to Keep Breathing by Janice Galloway
Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh
Lanark by Alasdair Gray
New Selected Poems by Edwin Morgan

And these are the books in the second photo:

The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

From Amazon I also got my first clothbound classic. I adore the clothbound classics collections and am planning to get many more. Jane Eyre was one of the books I had been planning to get from the collection, and since it's on the reading list for English Lit next semester and I'd have to buy it anyway, I figured I might as well get it in clothbound right away. I think it might be the most beautiful book I own.

Have you read any of these books? And what's the last book you bought?

Also, as you might've noticed I usually post on Thursdays and Sundays, but I thought I'd challenge myself to post three times a week instead of two, so now I'm planning on posting Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, and Sundays. We'll see how it goes :)

I hope you've had a good start of the week!

Love, Mimmi.
