Happy Post #7

For lack of other pictures, here's some Glasgow architecture for you ;)

It's been almost a month since my last appreciative post, so I thought it was about time for another one. In an attempt to be more organised with my blogging, I've decided that I'll write an appreciative post every other week (not sure if it'll be Thursdays like for this one, or if I'll push it to Sundays). I'm also going to include a few blog posts I've liked recently in my appreciative posts, instead of making a separate post about them. I'm generally a very organised person, so the fact that these appreciative posts were spaced out randomly has been bothering me for a while, haha. And I'm hoping that this way, the happy things and the blog posts will be more current than they'll probably be in this one... Anyway, here we go! These things have made me happy recently...

Reaching 100 followers on Bloglovin'. This actually happened a couple of weeks ago (I'm now at 120!), and I've been waiting for a chance to mention it. I'm aware that in the world of blogging a 100 followers is not very much, but to me it means a lot! I started blogging simply because I wanted a creative outlet, and having lots of followers has never been a priority. Nevertheless it's so nice knowing that some people actually enjoy reading what I write, to the point where they want to see more! In short, I'm very thankful. :)

Stargazing in the university courtyard. Last Friday, after leaving the union at two in the morning, me and three friends went to the university's courtyard (which is more than 500 years old and incredibly beautiful), laid down on the grass and star-gazed. It was honestly magical. A proper movie moment.

Being almost done with all of my essays. I had five essays this semester (although one of them wasn't assessed), which was just insane. I'm now finishing up my last one, and it's such a relief to be done with them. I honestly don't mind writing essays that much (I much prefer it to taking exams!), but five was a bit excessive. Come Monday, my last one will be handed in!

Fairylights! There's nothing better than turning on the fairylights when it gets dark in the late afternoon. It makes my room so wonderfully cosy that I never want to leave it. I'm actually thinking of getting more, to put around my window....

Porridge in the morning. My standard breakfast is oatmeal porridge with almond milk, topped with almonds, walnuts and cinnamon. It's delicious, comforting, filling and keeps me going until lunch. Nothing beats it!

The arrival of citrus season. I have an unconditional love for oranges, clementines and the likes, and lately I've been eating so many clementines a day. Sadly, some of them are a bit watery and boring, but the wonderfully sweet and juicy ones make up for the occasional let-down.

Potatoes. This one might seem a bit random, but one of my flatmates brought back a big sack of potatoes after she had been home to visit (her family has a potato farm), and those potatoes have been an unsuspected source of joy. Mashed potatoes and baked potatoes are just the best to warm you up in the colder months.

Seeing Mockingjay tonight! I'm going with a few friends to the cutest little cinema in the West End for the midnight showing, and I couldn't be more excited. I've been waiting for a long time for this film!

That's all I can think of at the moment, so let's move on to the blog posts. Some of these are almost a month old, since that's how long it's been since I shared blog posts (where on earth does the time go?), but I want to share them anyway.

So, without further ado, here are eight blog posts from the last few weeks that I've enjoyed reading:

Candy's thoughts on being three dimensional.

Emily's recipe for vanilla french toast.

Evelin's photos of the starry night sky (yes, I do love stars).

Rebecca's tips on what do to if you worry too much.

Katy's list of 10 good things, as a part of her new Happy Monday series.

Jen's list of 7 clich├ęs about life that are actually true.

Megan's thoughts on Victoria's Secret's 'The Perfect Body' Campaign and body shaming in general.

My friend Heather's recipe for White Chocolate and Raspberry Parfait. (Also, Heather has just started blogging and her blog is super lovely, so make sure to check it out!)

That's that! Tell me, what has made you happy recently? Or do you have any interesting blog posts to share?

Love, Mimmi.
