Ashton Lane, Ketchup & Mockingjay

Ashton Lane is a beautifully quaint wee street in the West End, full of nice bars and restaurants. It's really close to the university and I've walked through it countless times during the day, but I've only been there a handful of times at nighttime. This Thursday, my friends and I had tickets for the midnight showing of Mockingjay at a lovely independent cinema called the Grosvenor. To make the night even more special, we decided to go for dinner before, and opted for a nice burger place called Ketchup, located right next to the cinema.

Burger places might not be the most practical choice for pescetarians and vegetarians, but Ketchup had two veggie options. I had one with portobello and gruyere, which was absolutely lovely. One of my friends had one with a roast pepper & chickpea patty and mint yoghurt, which seemed really good as well. The others all opted for classic beef burger, and I think they all really liked theirs as well, so Ketchup definitely has something for everyone. Sadly, my burger wasn't the most photogenic one, and the lighting wasn't the best, but I still wanted to show you the food, haha.

To finish off, we decided to get three Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundaes to share between the five of us. Although incredibly filling, they were the perfect finish to a very good meal.

To kill the last hour before midnight we went to a cafĂ© for some coffee, before finally heading back to the cinema to see Mockingjay. We are all really big fans, so the excitement was high. Luckily, the film really lived up to my expectations. It was heartbreaking and painful, but I loved how dark and grim it was.  It definitely made the book justice.

Have any of you seen it? What did you think of it?

I hope you've all had a good weekend!

Love, Mimmi.
