Isle of Skye

It's finally time for the second part of the trip that my mum, my sister and I took up to the Highlands in the middle of July! I can't believe it's been so long already - where has time gone? Anyway, after we had travelled with the Jacobite Train to Mallaig, we took the ferry over to Armadale on the Isle of Skye. Since my sister and I were both working the coming Monday, we only had 24 hours to spend on Skye before we had to take the ferry and the train back down on Sunday. We didn't have time to see Portree, the fairy pools, or the Old Man of Storr, but we still got to see plenty of the island, both through the bus window and while walking around near Broadford, where we were staying. We had a lovely, chilled time; walking, taking in the beautiful surroundings, eating good food and drinking tasty beer. Skye is breathtakingly beautiful, and I already want to go back! 24 hours gave me a good taste of the island, but there is so much left to see and explore.

Do you have a favourite island, be it in the UK or elsewhere?

Love, Mimmi.
