Last Sunday I attended my first ever blogger event/meet-up, namely Scot Blog Meet, which was organised completely by the lovely Charlotte of Colours and Carousels. Since I had never been to a blogger event before, I was undeniably a bit nervous. Even more so because I'm not the best at meeting new people (I seem to forget all my words and turn into a more boring person than usual). I shouldn't have worried though, as there were so many lovely people there.

Since I was around in Glasgow anyway, I went down a little bit earlier to help Charlotte and a couple of others with taking everything from Charlotte's car to the location of the event - Darcy's in Princes Square Shopping Centre. The room that was hired for the meet-up was so pretty, and Darcy's provided us with prosecco and some light food. Being a vegetarian isn't always easy at these things, but thankfully Darcy's had a really good vegetarian platter too, with roasted vegetables and hummus, plus some bruschetta with tomatoes.

The event itself went by incredibly quickly. There were three talks, one from Lynsay of Miss West End Girl, one from Anne from the Scottish Association for Mental Health, and one from Lisa-Marie of Last Year's Girl. All three talks were fantastic, in different ways. Lynsay's and Lis's were so inspiring and motivating in terms of blogging, and Anne talked about an incredibly important subject - mental health and how to look after your own mental health. Apart from the talks, there was also a raffle, in which I managed to win a gift voucher for the Beauty Kitchen (a Glasgow-based beauty salon/skincare brand), and a gift certificate for Scent City. I think the most coveted prize was Hayley's super cute crochet elephant though. I'm so tempted to get one from her Etsy shop

Briony from Yelp Glasgow was there with a fun "Build your own goodie bag" station, and the newly started Glasgow-based brand Barebaroque was there with their beautiful temporary jewellery tattoos. I got some lovely leaves down my forearm, plus got to bring a sheet of gold tattoos home with me! We were also treated to goodie bags with lots of free goodies - skincare from DermaV10, body scrub from TreacleMoon, a wee shower gel from Arran Aromatics, a cleanser from Bee Good, strawberry & banana chapstick, some samples from Manuka Doctor, ice tea from Virtue, a bracelet from Sue's Little Gems, a few perfume samples and some very tempting discount codes! I've been testing out the Bee Good cleanser as a morning cleanser over the past few days, and so far so good. The body butter from Derma V10 is also lovely - I just love all things coconut. So I'm excited to try out the scrub from TreacleMoon as well.

The best part of the event wasn't the free stuff though, but the blogging community. The talks that I mentioned were super inspiring, and it was so nice to meet and get to know fellow bloggers, such as CharlotteMoragHayleyLisNicoleEllisJude and Charlene. It was a nice change to be amongst bloggers, where no one raises an eyebrow when you photograph your food. Moreover, the event was held for such a great cause! With the tickets, the raffle money and the donations, we managed to raise £320 for SAMH, which is just incredible! All in all, it was definitely a successful first blogging event. I'm so impressed by Charlotte for organising everything all by herself!

Have you ever been to a blogger meet-up or event?

Love, Mimmi.
