Another week, another lunch. If you read my blog regularly, it'll be no surprise to you that I like going out for lunch or coffee ever so often. Since I don't really go out or spend money on alcohol, I don't feel too bad about these little treats. And when you've moved to a new area, you really have to try out all the new places, don't you? This Monday, my sister and I met up again during my lunch break, and this time we decided to give Bar Soba a go. I had heard really good things about Soba, and my sister had already been, so I was definitely excited for some noodles. We went to the one on Byres Road, but I believe there is one in the Merchant City as well, as well as some outside of Glasgow.

Soba specialises in all kinds of noodles - ramen, soba, udon, pad thai - but also offers other pan-Asian meals. I was a little bit disappointed by how few vegetarian alternatives there were, but I still managed to find something delicious to eat. We both decided to go for their lunch deal - a starter and a main meal for £8.95 - if you choose from their special lunch menu. We opted for veggie gyozas to start and then vegetarian pad thai for the main, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The pad thai was perhaps not as good as it is in Thailand, but it was pretty darn close, and left me wanting more. Next time I think I'll try out their veggie gyoza ramen.

Monday lunch hour was very quiet, and I think it's busier during the night, but I'd definitely recommend going for a lunch. They did have a lot of delicious-sounding cocktails however, so I'd love to come back to try one of those out.

Love, Mimmi.
